Dr. Melissa E. Wainwright is an experienced practitioner in P–20 systems leadership with more than 25 years of service as a teacher, principal, district leader, consultant, and state coordinator. Her expertise includes Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) implementation, leadership development, professional learning design, and strategic planning. She has served in regional and state-level leadership roles and is currently the MTSS Coordinator for the Kentucky Department of Education.
Dr. Wainwright brings deep knowledge in system transformation and has presented at state and national conferences, facilitated learning communities, and coached hundreds of education leaders across K–12 and higher education. She earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership Studies from the University of Kentucky, where her research focused on collective leadership practices in high-performing schools implementing MTSS.
She enjoys helping leaders translate ideas into action through thoughtful planning, collaborative design, and data-informed decision-making.
