About this Session

Using data to evaluate students consistently enables students to move among the continuum of the three tiers (MTSS). Data is collected & viewed on a school-wide data wall that shows students holistically. Students have a number created from averaging their diagnostics, state tests, & summative assessments of being on grade level, below, or well-below grade level. From this, at-risk students are identified & an intervention is put in place. Data is collected for 6 weeks for both academics & behavior interventions from a school website for teacher reference. This ensures students are given interventions & not accommodations. Following the 6-week implementation process, there is a team meeting & outcomes are assessed. As a team, we agree to continue with the current implementation or change the intervention. The implementation of a MTSS PBIS school with fidelity earned Austintown Intermediate School a National ESEA Distinguished School award & a PBIS Gold Award for the past 5 years.
